Certificates in Numeracy and Literacy lead to a qualification. We will help you by looking at your goals and working with you to decide which course is best for you.
To gain a qualification you will need to complete an assessment, but this doesn’t necessarily mean a written exam – it could be an online test taken using a computer or even a practical work-based project. We have lost of opportunities to help you practise and prepare for assessments, so you can build your confidence before you take the test. We have qualified tutors that can support you in any areas you struggle with. Only when you’re ready do you take the test.

ECDL Essentials and Extra
This qualification is ideal for novice computer users wishing to prove and improve their computing skills for the benefit of themselves and of future employers.
It is also particularly suited to those who require the utmost flexibility in their learning programme, perhaps due to personal or career commitments.
ECDL is designed for novice or intermediate users. It assumes no prior expertise, and offers a flexible working programme.
The basic ECDL qualification is broken down into two levels: ECDL Essentials and ECDL Extra. These can be taken individually to obtain single certificates, or together to achieve the overall ECDL qualification.
ECDL Essentials is a Level 1 ITQ Award and consists of 3 modules. ECDL Extra is a Level 2 ITQ Certificate and consists of 4 modules. As the qualifications map to the ITQ standards they are eligible for funding in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

If you’ve got IT qualifications, you’re an asset to any modern business. ECDL EXTRA is your chance to learn new skills and gain valuable qualifications at the same time.
It is a nationally-recognised programme, designed to meet the needs of today’s businesses. It is tailor-made for you, taking into account all of your existing IT skills. The course will include Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations and Databases (Optional). You will also do a course on Improving Productivity that will bring all of your IT skills together to do a project showing your competence across the applications and thus gaining the full qualification.
