Aims and Objectives
“Using technology to transform the skills of the working population to improve Northwest productivity and employability”
Our aims are to:
- Identify courses that are employment skill based to provide people with the opportunity to develop skills appropriate for their current or potential future employment.
- Increase people’s aspirations and awareness of the value of skills to them and their families.
- Focus on economically valuable skills and increase sustainable employment and progression.
- Work with employers to increase relevant training offered to their staff; using Train to Gain funding where possible.
- Work with workless people diagnosing their skills needs and giving them support as they make the transition into sustainable work.
- Work with low-skilled workers given them the chance to gain a level 2 qualification (NVQ) and learn basic skills in the workplace using flexible learning through Train to Gain.
- Work with skilled workers giving them more opportunities to develop in the workplace, through management and leadership programmes.
