About

Aims and Objectives

“Using technology to transform the skills of the working population to improve Northwest productivity and employability”

Our aims are to:

  • Identify courses that are employment skill based to provide people with the opportunity to develop skills appropriate for their current or potential future employment.
  • Increase people’s aspirations and awareness of the value of skills to them and their families.
  • Focus on economically valuable skills and increase sustainable employment and progression.
  • Work with employers to increase relevant training offered to their staff; using Train to Gain funding where possible.
  • Work with workless people diagnosing their skills needs and giving them support as they make the transition into sustainable work.
  • Work with low-skilled workers given them the chance to gain a level 2 qualification (NVQ) and learn basic skills in the workplace using flexible learning through Train to Gain.
  • Work with skilled workers giving them more opportunities to develop in the workplace, through management and leadership programmes.
